Dr. Karla Miranda was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and now works as a primary care doctor in Tampa, FL. She has always struggled with her weight since she was a child. Despite learning a lot about food and nutrition from many nutritionists and getting her medical degree, she couldn't keep a healthy weight for long. She struggled to find a balance even with exercise and during her time in the military. Everything changed when another doctor suggested a new medication for weight loss.
